1. Who we are
Restricción CR (the “App”) is operated by HiveDevOps Technology Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada (“HiveDevOps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company organized under the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the App and related services (together, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
2. The short version
Restricción CR is a utility that tells you whether your car can circulate in San José today based on the last digit of your license plate. The restriction schedule ships inside the App and the check runs on your device. We do not ask for your name, email, or an account. The only information that leaves your device is an automatically created anonymous identifier, usage and diagnostic data (analytics and crash reports), and the data our ad network needs to show a banner ad. The plate digit you save stays on your device only and is never sent to us. We do not sell your information.
3. Information we collect
- Anonymous identifier. When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically (Firebase Authentication). It does not include your name, email, or anything that directly identifies you.
- Device & technical data. Device type and operating system, app version, language, approximate region/IP address, and diagnostic or crash data.
- Usage & analytics. Events within the App (for example, which screens you open), collected to understand and improve the Services.
- Advertising data. The App shows a Google AdMob banner ad. Our advertising provider may collect device and advertising identifiers as described in its own policy.
Your plate stays on your device. If you enable the option to save your plate number, it is stored only in your device’s local storage. It is not sent to our servers or to third parties, and it is removed when you disable the option or uninstall the App.
4. How we use your information
- Provide and maintain the App and its restriction schedule.
- Show the banner advertising that keeps the App free.
- Analyze usage to fix bugs and improve features.
- Maintain security and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to your support requests.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), your consent (for example, personalized ads, where required), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services), and compliance with legal obligations.
7. Third-party services we use
- Google Firebase (anonymous Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics) — Google LLC. Firebase privacy.
- Google AdMob — banner advertising. AdMob & privacy.
- Apple App Store — app distribution. Apple.
8. Advertising & your choices
The App shows banner ads through Google AdMob; that is what keeps it free. If you are in the EEA or the UK, we ask for consent before showing ads via Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) form, and you can change your decision at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the App. You can also limit ad personalization and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
9. Data retention
We keep analytics and diagnostic data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, per our providers’ retention periods. The saved plate digit lives only on your device and is removed when you disable the option or uninstall the App.
